Celebrate Independence Day with a fun-filled, family-friendly weekend in Russell County!
Festivities begin the evening of July 3rd with the Mural E. Fisk Memorial Patriotic House Decorating Contest from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
On July 4th, the day kicks off with an 8:00 a.m. 5K Run/Walk, followed by the Patriotic Parade and Kids Decorating Contests at 10:00 a.m. Enjoy a Community BBQ and Patriotic Program at the VFW, plus free swimming at the Russell Municipal Pool from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Afternoon fun includes Bingo at 2:00 p.m. and a Cake Walk at 4:00 p.m. at the VFW. Wrap up the night with the Annual Ernest “Ernie” L. Carter Memorial Fireworks Display at 9:45 p.m.
