Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner

The 45th annual Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 23 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Come enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner furnished by the community for the community. Serving begins at noon.

Takeout is available from noon to 2 PM or you can have a meal delivered by calling Danniell Heaton at 785-483-1772.

The dinner is free and freewill donations are appreciated.

In the press release from the dinner committee, it said the Russell Community Thanksgiving Dinner is an event close to our hearts. It's our belief that every family should experience the joy of a home cooked meal during the Thanksgiving season. This dinner is a testament to the generosity and compassion of the Russell community coming together to make this vision a reality. A year ago, 757 meals were served, the most in the 44 year history of the event.

"We aim to celebrate the true spirit of Thanksgiving," according to Heaton. “This event is a symbol of gratitude, community and the joy of sharing a meal with loved ones."

The Russell Thanksgiving Dinner Committee extends an open invitation to all community members and encourages everyone to join in the celebration. Come together, dine together and experience the warmth of the Thanksgiving spirit.
